Stacey gets support from No10.

It seems the Prime Minister Gordon has finally made up his mind on who to support in this years X-Factor finals. He had previously remarked on Jedward "not being very good" but has now said who he finds good.

Speaking on ITV’s This Morning, Mr Brown said he had been impressed by Stacey Solomon, before adding that he wished all the singers well, claiming he watches the show with his wife Sarah and sons John and Fraser.

Stacey & Olly sitting in a tree..K I S S I N G...

Well may be they weren't in a tree, but the x-Factor rumour mills are buzzing that the budding romance we reported on a few weeks ago between Olly Murs and Stacey Solomon might have finally been sealed with a kiss.

A source (it had to be, didn't it) has revealed : "In the last few days they have been getting very affectionate towards each other and it looks like the first X Factor romance of the year is starting,"

"Olly and Stacey are both single and been spending more and more time together. They have had a few cuddles and a kiss away from the other contestants and everyone at the show thinks they will make a lovely couple."

Ahhhhh...so sweet I wonder if we will get a repeat of the Diana Vickers and Eoghan Quigg sickly moment when the first of the pair gets voted off.

Amy Winehouse's Dad upset about comparisons between Amy and Stace

Amy Winehouse's Dad Mitch is upset about comparisons between Amy and Stacey.

Winehouse senior revealed the family are big fans of the X-Factor show and they were all upset last week when Rachel lost out to Lloyd.

He also revealed that he was upset about comparisons between his daughter and Stacey Solomon, insisting his daughter is unique. I think Stacey will be relieved personally, considering the state of Amy in recent years.

Havering rallies to support Stacey

The Romford Recorder reports on how support across Stacey's home borough of Havering in east London is rallying for their home town girl

THERE are not too many singing stars to come from Havering - but now you have the unique opportunity to create one.

Twenty-year-old Havering College student Stacey Solomon rocked her way into the fifth heat of ITV talent show The X Factor on Saturday.

Now we are urging all Romford Recorder readers to vote for Stacey every week in the hope that she can follow in the footsteps of Leona Lewis and become a recording star. We want you to display the poster in today's Recorder (on our centre pages) to encourage others to do the same!

Support is growing across the borough. At Oh My Cod fish and chip shop in North Street, Hornchurch - where Stacey used to work - manager Jimmy Andrew said: "She's a nice girl. She came and saw us when she was allowed out of the X Factor house on Monday."

The Moby Dick pub in Whalebone Lane North, Dagenham - Stacey's home town - has put up a banner outside showing its support.

Managers Tina Donno and Neil Challinor said: "Her performances have been amazing and we're sure she'll go all the way."

Marketing manager at The Mall Romford, Sarah De Courcy Rolls, said traders were caught up in Stacey mania.

"Everybody here loves Stacey," she said.

And she is even being talked about in the corridors of power at Havering Town Hall. Council leader Michael White said he is "backing Stacey all the way".

Upminster MP Angela Watkinson is also rooting for our girl. She said: "It will be a great coup for her and Havering College if she wins.

Ashton leaves Stacey fustered

Apparently meeting JLS's Aston Merrygold left Stacey flustered and stumbling over her words, we were shocked to hear this because the Stacey we know is always cool, calm, collected and composed - not!

Stacey insists there is nothing romantic between herself and Ashton but then confessed to getting all girly when they met on the set of the X-Factor

She goes "No he doesn't [fancy me] unfortunately. It's just a lie otherwise we could just be this celebrity couple. I met him the other day when he came to perform on the show. He said, 'hiya' and I was like so uncomfortable, I was like 'hi'. He was a really nice guy."

hmmmh! I think the story still has legs...

Everyone loves Stacey...

It seems Stacey Solomon is acquiring quite a following. We had reported earlier that both Ashton Merrigold and Olly Murs had declared their love for Stacey in different ways. Now it has become a love triangle as rumours have it that Joe McElderry is also quite keen on the Dagenham diva.

The 18-year-old singer is said to be smitten with his fellow finalist from the show and has been spending as much of his free time with the single mum as possible.

A friend speaking about her bond with Joe and rumours of interest by Olly told a national newspaper: "The two share a very close bond. They love spending time with each other and have a very special relationship.

"Nothing has happened so far, but the seeds of romance are definitely there. Stacey's definitely a favourite with the boys. Everyone loves her, but the flirting is nothing compared to her close friendship with Joe. That's the one to watch."
